External transfer of human biological material for research purposes shall be contractual.
The agreement between the parties must establish conditions for the transfer and use of the material, and specify the aspects of confidentiality, publications, protection and ownership. If there is a collaboration agreement between the parties that includes transfer of human biological material, there is no need for a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA). In all other cases of transfer it is required to sign a MTA.
