Open Access and Knowledge Archive

What is Open Access?

Open Access (OA) means free, online access to research results. The aim is that results from publicly funded research should be widely available to the greatest extent possible. You can read more about open research on the Research Council's website - Open Science.

Oslo University Hospital (OUS) has also established internal routines for the assessment of approved publishing channels. See guideline for scientific publishing in the electronic manual eHåndboken (in Norwegian).

Information about Open Access Publishing Agreements for Researchers at OUS

OUS researchers can now have their publishing costs covered in order to make articles and other publications free and open to other researchers and the general public.

Agreements have been negotiated with the major publishers, Elsevier, Wiley, IOP, Taylor & Francis and Springer Compact and a few minor publishers. Details and duration of the individual agreement can be found on the University of Oslo's website Publishing deals and discounts.

If you have any problems or questions, contact the University Library, UiO, e-mail: openaccess@ub.uio.no.

Knowledge Archive

Regional Research Support is working to establish a knowledge archive for the hospitals in the region.

For questions related to the process, contact Kristin Bjordal at Regional Research Support (kristin.bjordal@ous-hf.no).

If you are part of a research project funded by the EU, you can also make use of the EU's general knowledge archive Zenodo.
